If you are making multiple applications to the same institution, and those programs use the same form, you can save time by using the Copy answers feature shown above. Clicking the Copy answers link will bring up a window showing your previous applications that contain this form. Choose which one you want to use and then "copy."
Note: This will delete any answers you have previously typed in on this form and replace them with your answers previously given.
SlideRoom forms only accept plain text. Plain text only allows for individual characters (letters, numbers, punctuation and spaces) and so you will need to use only these elements to fill in the forms.
In order to change the information on your SlideRoom account, please log in to your account. Once you are in the account, click on your name at the top of the page to drop down a menu. Click on Account Information to bring up the details of your SlideRoom account. On this page you can edit the details of your account such as name, address, phone number and password.
In order to create a SlideRoom account, you will need to go to the SlideRoom portal for the organization that you are interested in applying to. If you do not know this address, look through their application materials for the address. Once at their SlideRoom portal, you will click on the Sign Up link to get started.
In order to reset your password, click the Forgot password? link on the login page. This will send you an email with a link in it, once you click on that link you will be able to change your password. Once you have reset your password you should be able to log in without issue.
SlideRoom supports all current versions of modern web browsers that fully support HTML 5. In short, we support the latest versions of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera on the latest versions of Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.
For those on older machines and using operating systems that are not supported above, we support the basic functionality of SlideRoom in some additional browsers. We have basic support for Chrome, Firefox and Opera for Linux computers as well as basic functionality support for Mobile IE and Google Chrome for Android.
SlideRoom does not accept files that have invalid characters in their filenames. These characters are
? " | < >. If your file contains any of these characters, you will receive an error. If your file does not have an extension you will also receive an error that will stop you from uploading. If your filename contains a
? you will receive the file extension error because the system will remove everything after the question mark.
If your file has a file extension, removing
? " | < > from the filename will correct this issue. If your file does not have a file extension, adding the appropriate extension will resolve this issue.
Note: Adding the wrong file extension will lead to a processing error or in the file being unusable by the organization. If you are uncertain about the proper file extension, open the file in the software that created it and save or export a new file so that it has the proper extension.
If you have ever used a SlideRoom account in the past (to apply to any organization) you do not need to register again. Try resetting your password by clicking the Forgot Password? link to set a new password and access your account.
To delete a file from your portfolio, simply hover your mouse over it. You will see two icons appear, click on the Trash Can icon. You will receive a confirmation window and your file will be deleted once you confirm. Alternatively, you can click on the item to bring up the label window and then click on the Delete button. This will provide a confirmation window and delete your item upon confirmation.
In order to copy previously submitted media to a new portfolio, go to the Media step and click on the + Add Media button. On the Add Media panel, select the Copy from Library tab on the left side of the window.
Select the program that you wish to import from in the Choose a Submission drop-down menu. Select the file or files that you wish to import by clicking on them and then import them by clicking on the Add to Portfolio button to complete the move.
You can rearrange your items by dragging and dropping them. Click and hold on an item that you wish to move and then drag it to the order that you want it and release it. It will drop in to order.
On a Windows computer, there is a great little open source program you can download called Image Resizer. It will allow you to right click on any image and define a new image size. A safe guideline is to make the largest dimension 1024 px.

On a Mac you can use Preview. Open the image in Preview, then go to Tools > Adjust image size. Within this window, you can enter a new size in terms of pixels. 1024 x 1024 px @ 72 ppi is a good standard to use. Please note that these dimensions are just a general guideline, your image size does NOT need to match exactly.
Each video clip must be under 250MB to upload into SlideRoom, and saved as
.mov, .flv, .mp4, .m4v or .wmv.1
If you do not have access to video production software or do not wish to use it, you can use MPEG Streamclip . You can then open your video in MPEG Streamclip and from the "File Menu", select "Export MPEG-4...". The options as they are by default should compress the video enough, so you can simply click the "Make MP4" button (or press return). If you find that the file is too compressed or not small enough once it is done, the "Quality" slider on the top of the options screen will allow you to make it larger or smaller to get the proper ratio of quality and size.

So long as images (
.jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .tif, .tiff, .bmp, .tga) are under 5 MB, they can be uploaded to SlideRoom (unless otherwise stated on the media step). Images do not have to be a particular size as our servers will process them to fit our system. Our processors will resize anything larger than 1280 x 1280 x 72 ppi to fit within those limitations.
Your video needs to be less than 250 MB in size, your audio file needs to be less than 30 MB in size and your documents need to be less than 10 MB (unless otherwise stated on the media step). So long as you meet the size requirement and have a video that is in the proper format, our system will process the video to fit the SlideRoom software. SlideRoom can potentially accept a wide variety of formats for each media type, however each program may have certain restrictions. For each type of media, here are the accepted file formats:

If you are on a PC without PDF software, you can download many free programs to convert documents to a PDF format. An example is PrimoPDF. If you don't like this one, you can do a web search for others as there are many options for converting your file.
At this time SlideRoom only accepts major credit and debit cards.1 If you would like to use a different form of payment, please contact the organization directly. Some organizations accept alternative forms of payment directly and can then waive the fee in SlideRoom. Otherwise you will need to pay with a major debit or credit card to pay through SlideRoom.

If you are receiving an "AVS mismatch" error, this error message occurs because the information you are typing does not exactly match your billing information. For instance, this could be a simple "Rd. vs Road" or the middle initial of your name. If you are receiving no error beyond declination, we are given no additional information for privacy and security reasons from our payment processor. Please try again or use a different card. If the issue continues, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you resolve the issue.
Yes. You do not need to wait for recommendation letters to be completed before submitting your application. You must input all of your recommendation requests before submitting but we will attach recommendation to your application as they come in, whether you have submitted already or not. If you have a problem with a pending recommendation request after submitting, you can view your completed application and resend the request or edit it if need be.
In order to edit a reference, simply log in to your SlideRoom account and open the application you need to change. Pull up the References step and click on the "Edit" link next to the reference that you need to change. You can edit any and all information for any incomplete reference.
You can log in to your SlideRoom account and resend a request for any incomplete reference. If you open the submission and move to the References step, you will find a "Resend" link next to each incomplete reference.
If your reference has not received the request, the first solution is to have them check their spam folder for the email. The next step is to log in to your SlideRoom account and resend the request. If you open the submission and move to the References step, you will find a "Resend" link next to any incomplete reference.
Once you click "Resend" the system will send out another reference request. If the problem persists, please have the reference contact us at email@example.com and we will be happy to help them resolve the issue.
Once you submit to an organization, the organization controls the submission. You cannot delete a completed submission on your end. This system mimics mailing a submission to the organization and does so for good reason. Many organizations that accept submissions are bound by law to maintain records of those submissions for years. The SlideRoom software allows the organizations to archive the programs and maintain such records.
If you wish to edit a completed submission, please contact the institution directly (you can reach them by using their contact information on your dashboard or on their main website) and request they unsubmit your portfolio. Once they grant this request, you will be able to make edits and resubmit for free.
You cannot submit an entire application to multiple organizations or even to multiple programs within one organization. Organizations build their programs to suit their needs and as such programs vary widely in their requirements and structure. As such, you cannot submit an application to more than one program and must fill out each submission separately. You can import your media from other submissions rather than having to upload your media again.
SlideRoom only allows one submission per program for each account. If you have submitted to a program once, you cannot submit to that specific program again. Organizations will create new programs for cyclical programs to allow you to apply to a program anew but there is no way to submit two applications to a single program.
Please contact the institution directly and request an extended deadline (or grace period if you already have a pending application). If they grant this request, you will receive more time to submit your application to them.
